What are “Centralized” APIs?

The SpotOn merchant ecosystem consists of two independent point of sale systems serving two different sets of SpotOn merchants:

SpotOn Express (Express) - SpotOn’s newest and fastest growing POS
SpotOn Restaurant (RPOS) - SpotOns full service legacy POS

SpotOn Centralized APIs (or CAP-ees 🧢 as we call them internally) abstract away the entire complexity of working with two different systems and allow a partner to build a single integration that works for all SpotOn merchants. SpotOn Centralized APIs are not only the primary and only publicly available APIs for Express, but are also a huge leap in functionality and reliability from our Gen 1 APIs for RPOS.
